Job Description

In this position, you will develop and promote the UX research discipline inside the organization and design our UX research strategy. In order to make sure our UX research team is deployed as efficiently as possible and is focusing on our primary outcome goals, you will provide UX research leadership and direction for a number of research activities that both influence and support the strategic framework.

Your role includes the following:
Recruit, manage, coach and develop a team of well-performing UX Researchers.
Provide strategic and tactical direction and leadership to the UX research team throughout the discovery and product development lifecycle.
Work hands-on as needed to support your team in research activities. This could be creating research plans, participant recruitment, developing moderation guides, writing surveys, moderating interviews, synthesising findings, etc.
Become a trusted, strategic partner to your stakeholders and counterparts by communicating and showing the value of user research, and by delivering insights that lead to product and service decisions that demonstrate business value.
Use data from a variety of sources to make evidence-based decisions, weigh the impact and tradeoffs of those decisions and seek input where needed to drive alignment.
Ensure UX research incorporates and applies the appropriate stages and dimensions of research – for example: generative and evaluative stages (discovery, exploring, testing, listening) and dimensions (qualitative ,quantitative, behavioural, attitudinal), etc.
Develop a shared holistic overview of our users, using multiple data sources to identify patterns, gaps, segments, pain points, opportunities etc.
Responsible for effective and efficient UX research operations. This includes a clear set of objectives, principles and best practices. It also incorporates optimised systems, workflows, solid costing overviews, effective tooling, etc.
Drive the growth of the whole UX department as part of UX management – this includes atmosphere, collaboration, and skill/competence.

Job requirements
8+ years of experience as a user experience researcher or experience in a related field
3+ years experience managing UX research professionals
Able to easily move between defining the bigger picture of research strategy and getting deep into the details of research and data analysis practices
Proven track record of conducting UX research that translates into meaningful business impact
Strong knowledge of research trends, advances and industry shifts
Proficient in data manipulation and analysis
Experience navigating and supporting teams through high ambiguity and change
Skilled in establishing effective prioritisation within a centralised way of working
Always objective and unbiased in both thinking and doing, across all aspects of the role
Proficient in UX research tooling such as Qualtrics, EnjoyHQ, Loop11, UserTesting, etc.
Skilled at managing multiple projects of various scale and scope simultaneously
Creative, open to learning new things and embracing diverse ideas
